Professor Yoshito Tobe retired from Osaka University on March 31, 2017 and became Emeritus since April 1. At the same time, he moved to The Institute of Scientific and Industrial Research of Osaka University in Suita Campus as a Visiting Research Professor to continue research.

Since April 1, the former Tobe group moved to Synthetic Supramolecular Chemistry Group
- 2018.10.01Prof. Tobe was appointed Chair Professor at National Chiao Tung University in Taiwan. He will continue serving a guest professor at the Institute of Scientific and Industrial Research of Osaka University.
- 2018.09.07Prof. Tobe received The Society of Physical Organic Chemistry Japan Award.
- 2018.05.08Prof. Tobe was awarded The Virgil Boekelheide Lecturer (2018-2019) at University of Oregon.
- 2017.12.16Yoshimi Imanishi (M2) and Guangke Cai (M2) were awarded poster prize at 11th Symposium on Organic Pi-Electron Systems.
- 2017.07.22Prof. Tobe gave the Nozoe Lecture at 17th International Symposium on Novel Aromatic Compounds (ISNA-17).
